FIMET OY IN BRIEF
Fimet was founded in 1981 and is located in Monninkylä 60 km east of Finland's capital city Helsinki. Fimet is privately owned and the main shareholders are the key management of the company and SITRA, a Finnish venture capital organization.
Fimet's growth has been rapid. The turnover of the company has increased seventeen-fold over the past decade. This is due to continuous introduction of new product lines, forming of international strategic alliances and joint ventures. This path of growth is also expected to continue in the future, with new innovative products already on the market as well as under development.
Currently Fimet employs 60 persons on an average in Monninkylä, Finland and another 60 in Fimet's joint venture company in Shanghai, China.
The strategy of Fimet - as a prominent, international high-tech supplier - is to design develop, manufacture and market medical equipment as well as to transfer know-how on design and production technologies to allied manufacturers world wide.

Fimet distributes its finalised products through local dealers. Components and semifinalised products are delivered to allied manufacturers under license, OEM and joint venture agreements. On an average 95% of the production are exported to over 40 countries regularly and to another 15 countries on an ad hoc basis. The main markets of Fimet are in Central and Eastern Europe, China, Asia and the Pacific Rim area as well as South America.
In business alliances, Fimet usually acts as a technology partner providing its allies with the latest product and manufacturing know-how. In the case of Shanghai Fimet Medical Instrument Factory, Fimet is also an equity partner in the joint venture company. Production licenses and training to allow assembly of F1 products have been granted to other manufacturers and local partners e.g. in Belarus and Argentina.
Fimet operates in own 3500 m2 facilities with self-developed, flexible manufacturing technology. Using highly automated, integrated design and production machinery Fimet fulfills the expectations of customers for individually designed, high tech equipment at reasonable cost.

All Fimet products are manufactured according to the highest quality standards. All products are submitted to extensive testing.
Partial and final assembly of the products incorporating e.g. electronics, pneumatics and mechanical departments involves appropriate testing at each production stage. To make sure, all the products leaving the Fimet factory are submitted to comprehensive final testing prior to shipment to customers.
Fimet continuously also arranges extensive training for local representatives to guarantee proper sales promotion, technical consultation, quick and effective installation of the products as well as high quality after sales services for Fimet end customers.
